Liverpool Defender and Dutch captain Virgil van has returned to the light training ahead of his much-awaited return to action following a knee surgery two months ago.
The 29 year-old Dutch international suffered a knee injury with Everton Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford in 0ctober 17 during the Merseyside derby with ended 2-2.
Van Dijk has been sidelined for the past two months missing Liverpool’s 19 games in all competitions. He had surgery performed on his knee and no was no positive news on his return date.
Rehabilitation of the defender’s progress have speed in the last weeks and positive signs have emerged with hope of returning to action before the climax of the league.
The big centre back gave Liverpool fans some lifeline hope when he posted a video on Twitter where he was seen juggling with the ball.

Liverpool is also in contract talks with Van Dijk for a pre-extension with defender’s current contract ending in 2023.
Van Dijk’s injury has created a big void in the defence of Jurgen Klopps defence who has endured a major defensive headache in the past weeks.
The Reds also sweat over the fitness of Joel Matip and Joe Gomez who also have injury concerns. The form without Van Dijk have deteriorated the defence since the Dutch’s injury.
This has resulted in 10 different defensive combinations from Jurgen Klopp in the last 17 matches which has had major impact in the results of Liverpool in the last weeks.
