The Department of Social Welfare (DSW) under the auspices of the Ministry of Gender, Children & Social Protection with support from UNICEF Ghana is organizing a five-day Training Workshop for Stakeholders on Case Management, Social Welfare Information Management System (SWIMS) and Child Care Reforms in Ghana. The workshop, which is currently ongoing in Koforidua will end on Friday 30th April, 2021.
The workshop seeks to build participants’ capacities on the new standardized approach to Case Management, SWIMS, Child Care Reforms and Alternative Care options.In her welcome address, the Acting Director for the Social Welfare Department, Rev. Dr. Mrs. Comfort Asare, reiterated the importance of the workshop as it aims at offering proper training to staff of DSW at all levels and appropriate stakeholders on Case Management, SWIMS, Online Child Protection and Foster Care. She added that participants will also be educated on the Intersectoral Standard Operating Procedures (ISSOP) for Child Protection &Family Welfare and Social Service Directory in order to strengthen the collaboration mechanism among different sectors.
The workshop brought together active stakeholders in the cases management, child protection, foster and alternative care such as social welfare officers, NGOs, Managers of Shelters, DOVVSU, Medical practitioners amongst others.
