The Japan football federation has given up on hosting the Club World Cup in December due to COVID 19 pandemic.

Japan was officially selected by FIFA to host the upcoming Club World cup in which England side Chelsea will be taking part but due to COVID 19, the Japan FA has announced their withdrawing from hosting the tournament.
The Japan FA are also appealing to FIFA to re-schedule the tournament as they did last year in which it was played in Qatar and won by Bayern Munich.

The Japan FA was willing to host this year’s Club World cup edition as part of its centenary anniversary celebrations.

Meanwhile, the venue for the tournament is now uncertain by FIFA but it’s believed the venue will be communicated soon.
