Sekondi Hasaacas FC played out an entertaining goalless draw with Star Madrid at the UniStar Academy Park in their matchday one outstanding league fixture.

Full of suspense and drama,the match proved to be an exciting one with both teams hitting hard but failed to capitalise on their chances created in the game.

Hasaacas FC coach Mustapha Fudail handed youngsters Eric Wonkyi Arthur and Elvis Nyarko their full debut for Hasmal to begin their campaign in the Division League.

Star Madrid in the early stages of the game had the opportunity to win the game for the hosts but saw their effort saved by goalkeeper Anthony Brebo.

Both sides had penalty calls in the first half but centre referee for the day Eric Todzro ignored both calls as he felt there wasn’t enough contact to be awarded.

Nicholas Zakli had a powerful shot rattled off the post in the second half to earn Hasaacas FC their first goal of the league campaign.

Referee Eric Todzro denied Hasaacas FC two penalty calls in the dying minutes of the game but he ignored the first call and also decided Samuel Afful was brought down just outside the penalty box and awarded a free-kick for the visitors.

The game ended 0-0 in an intensed clash full of drama and suspense with both teams having the chance to win the game but failed to materialise those chances.

Hasaacas FC will square off with New Edubiase United at the Sekondi Gyandu Park in matchday two of the ongoing Division One Zone Two League.
