Done Deal: Ghanaian Midfielder Majeed Ashimeru joins RSC Anderlecht on a loan deal

Ghanaian midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has joined Belgian Pro side RSC Anderlecht on a loan-deal with an option to be made permanent at the end of the season.

The 23 year-old has who played the first half at Austria giants RB Salzburg joins the Purple and White side for the remainder of the season.

The Ghanaian forced the move to gain more playing time after being limited at RB Salzburg despite a wonderful spell with the club.

The Belgian Club released on their website;

“RSCA loans Majeed Ashimeru from Red Bull Salzburg.

“The 23 year-old player from Ghana joins Anderlecht on loan with an option to buy.

“Majeed Ashimeru is a central midfielder who played the past seasons with RB Salzburg”.

RSC Anderlecht Sporting Director Peter Verbeke also shared his thoughts on the aquisition of Majeed Ashimeru ;

“Majeed is a young and versatile midfielder who adds flair and verticality to his game.

“He has the Red Bull philosophy in him and on top of that he adds acceleration and a bit of infiltrate to his profile matches that he plays.

“Majeed, really wanted to join Anderlecht and we negotiated to make the deal permanent in the summer if he performs”.

Majeed Ashimeru has featured for many teams in Austria having played for Austria Lustenau, Wolfsberger, and Red bull Salzburg.

The box-box midfielder played a total of 20 matches for RB Salzburg, starting 15 games and making two assists.
