Skipper Abeiku Ainooson second half double was enough for Hasmal to return to winning ways after failing in the last 4 counts.
Sunday’s match-week 13 game against Unistar Academy at the Sekondi Gyandu Park ended 2-1 with Abeiku Ainooson grabbing both goals for the Giants.
Abeiku Ainooson broke Unistar’s stern by connecting well to John Komson’s cross in the 67th minute before scoring from the spot in the 86th minute to secure all points for the team.
Unistar Academy looked organized and diligent right from the start and made life very difficult for Hasmal by striking the first goal with a powerful strike just before the half time whistle.
Hasmal came in stronger in the second half with the introduction of Obed Asamoah Ackah and Eric Wonkyi Arthur adding more bite upfront and chances came aplenty.
It looked that Unistar’s stern will win them the day but a timely cross from John Komson was perfectly met by Abeiku Ainooson.
The skipper stood up to the battle of wills when Obed Asamoah Ackah was clearly fouled by the goalkeeper – he sent the goalkeeper to the ghost land to register his third goal of the season.
